Myth behind Travel Writing
Many may think that trying to become a travel writing in the present age is a rewarding profession all together because with more means in their hand people today are more interested to travel in different places all through the world. But in reality when it is seen in terms of money earning it can be seen that the profession does not pay so richly. This is because there are many travel writers today and as the supply is more the demand for them is not very high.There is myth which says that travel writers make a lot of money with their stories but that is not the case. They have to work real hard and have to take to backpacking in order make a respectable sum in their traveling career. Just visiting a place is not enough to make a travel story. Your story should have a journalistic approach and should have something new besides your personal experiences because no reader is interested to know about your personal experiences.Some people also have a belief that travel magazines love long stories. But that is not the truth they want stories which are crisp, innovative and at the same time informative. Length does not add to the value of the story.
