Computers In Healthcare
All industries use computers to varying degrees now. However, a few industries are doing some pretty amazing things with computer technology. One of these is the healthcare IT industry. First, they’re using computers for basic, but important medical information sharing. As electronic medical records become more widely adopted, computers are being used to send EMRs across a distribution network of hospitals and clinics, so even if you’ve never been to a clinic before, they can have all of your vital patient information, like allergies, medical history, etc.
Computers are also being used to do some incredible advanced imaging. When you get a CT or an MR scan, they can actually create a complete and accurate 3D model of your body, including internal structures. Surgeons are even using computers to perform radiosurgery, using robotics so that a professional surgeon can perform a surgery himself from across an ocean. Computers are doing amazing things, and in the case of healthcare, it may just mean saving your life.
