After listening to bands like Putrid Angel and Disgorge, I wondered how the lead vocalists learned to sing like that and make the distinctive sounds called death growls.  My friend said he saw a clip on YouTube giving lessons on how to sing death metal.  I checked it out and the band performing in the clip was OK and they had some good advice for anyone who wants to sing death metal.  The purpose of most of the clip was to promote the band, but the music was good to use to practice learning the death growl sound.  My biggest concern is that I will damage my voice while learning how to sing death metal and not be able to sing any style of music at all.  I think I need professional instruction.
