Connecting With Twitter

Twitter is a way for anyone with an Internet connection to send and read very short messages. These (140 characters or less) messages are known as tweets. Tweets are short bursts of information, most of which is inconsequential. All tweets are text-based, so you cannot send anything but text on twitter, but you can include a hyperlink in your tweets that you think others would enjoy. Because there is a 140-character limit, you have to shorten the character length of the link. You can do this by pointing your browser to bit.ly and pasting in the link you want to tweet. This will shorten the length of the link so you can include more information in your tweet.
